Executive Functioning
Executive functions let individuals manage their thoughts, actions, and emotions to complete tasks and/or problem-solve. Students who struggle with weak executive functioning skills can be challenged by:

-
Planning out their work (short and long-term)
-
Organization
-
Initiating a plan or task, sticking to the plans they make
-
Time management
-
Monitoring to see whether or not they achieved the goals they initially set out for themselves
-
Following directions
-
Remembering instructions
-
Decision-making
