Mental Health Resources

The strongest platform for health and wellness is when student, parent and Head of House collaborate as a team along with outside resources if you have someone you work with. These resources are our go to's for supporting students at Collingwood school.

Dr. Martin Davidson is our school psychologist. Students can book a 30 min time slot with him through our Heads of House. Once they meet, if he recommends further counseling, through the North Shore Stress and Anxiety Clinic, parents can set up ongoing counseling via his private practice. When treating children and youth, he works one-on-one with them, but also places an emphasis on working with parents to help them better understand what their child or adolescent is going through, to find ways for parents to better support their child, and to improve attachment relationships within families.

Dr. Hayley Watson is a clinical psychologist, who has presented to parents at both Collingwood campuses. She has extensive experience in the assessment, treatment, and support of children, adolescents, adults, and families with a wide range of emotional and behavioural difficulties, and has particular expertise in supporting adolescents dealing with anxiety, bullying/social exclusion, victimization, and relational difficulties.

Foundry North Shore offers young people 12-24 access to mental health and substance use support, primary care, peer support and social services. They are the place we refer students and parents to for quick access to community support.

Mental Health Literacy is the knowledge and understanding that helps us become responsible, effective and successful in living full and healthy lives. With good mental health literacy we learn how to take better care of ourselves, our loved ones and our communities. We are empowered and provided with the skills that we need to help us build better lives, better systems of care and a better society.

Anxiety Canada is a wonderful resource to help you understand the topic of anxiety and what resources might be available to your teen to support them. Their website provides information, personal stories, access to the Mindshift App and an Anxiety MAP which is a self help tool that maps out a possible pathway forward in dealing with anxiety.

BounceBack® is a free skill-building program designed to help adults and youth 13+ manage low mood, mild to moderate depression, anxiety, stress or worry. Delivered online or over the phone with a coach, you will get access to tools that will support you on your path to mental wellness.
